Best Diwali campaigns I saw this Diwali

Cause good things come in bunch

Hello there

Quick Life Updates:

Missing a bit of Japan but hey back to the grind, not gonna lie missed work just a little and family and friends a little more, was obsessed with everyone’s Diwali celebration pictures. Had the best time in Japan, till I have that great coffee there, Again!!

Between all the pre-Diwali madness and rush one thing that kept me going (apart from all the shopping and cleaning, YES I enjoy cleaning; I am THAT person) were the amazing pop-ups of ads and campaigns all around. So here are some of them with their breakdowns.

1. Philips: Light Beyond Brightness

In the process of finishing edits on a late-night client decks and approvals, my feed was serving me all the Diwali party paparazzi pictures full of glittery clothes and among those I saw Philips' Diwali ad film with Sanya Malhotra.

No blaring jingles, no done-to-death shine. Just rhythm, mood, and light in motion together converting mundane homes into boundaries of warmth. Under its #PhilipsLights campaign, the company didn't discuss light or efficiency. It discussed emotion and how light influences the way we feel more than the way we look.

Every frame commemorated quiet, intimate happiness: a family meal, a child reading, laughter that didn't require filters. Philips was able to take something utilitarian which was lighting and make it aspirational, even poetic. It reminded viewers that Diwali isn't about purchasing more, but feeling more.

When brands sell experiences rather than gadgets, they don't merely light up homes, they light up hearts.

Key takeaways:

  • Sell emotion, not equipment.

  • Let your product facilitate the emotion, not overwhelm it.

  • Technology becomes more human when it reflects human moods.

2. VinFast: The Softest Glow is Kindness

Amidst the festive noise of an upcoming event and it’s chaos and of course the inbox fireworks, one went unnoticed ,VinFast's understated Diwali tale of a boy's gentle act of kindness that lit up brighter than a firework.

In an era where brands pursue spectacle or the next big thing, VinFast opted for silence. No stars, no flashing city skyline photographs, simply a genuine story about how kindness begets connection. The vehicle was simply the setting, not the protagonist. Instead of horsepower, it talked about heartpower. (Not my best word play)

The greatness was in its restraint. You didn't merely see the story; you experienced it, the little things, the silent pity, the emotional reward that required no slogan.

VinFast reminded viewers that the most significant celebrations are not boisterous. They're human, quiet, and genuine. It wasn't the vehicle you drove, but the motive behind.

Key takeaways:

  • Emotional restraint can overpower visual spectacle.

  • Compassion-driven storytelling produces ageless recall.

  • When humans experience warmth, they recall who provided it.
